Vicky C. Fuentes

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Edubijes "Vicky" Carrasco Fuentes, who left this world at the remarkable age of ninety-five. She was a source of love, strength, and wisdom to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

Born on February 12, 1929, to Juan and Manuela Carrasco, Vicky Fuentes dedicated her life to her family and community. As a devoted mother to her five daughters—Rosa Enriquez, Gabriela Gomez, Teresa Hernandez, Lorina Lopez, and Paula Nunez—she instilled values of love, compassion, and resilience in each of them. Her nurturing nature extended to her seventy-nine grand/great/great children, each of whom cherished the special bond they shared with her.

Vicky was more than just a family matriarch; she was a friend, a confidante, and a guiding light. Her laughter, stories, and delicious meals will be sorely missed. She had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel seen and valued, reminding us of all the importance of family, love, and togetherness.

In her later years, Vicky enjoyed sharing her wisdom and experiences with her grandchildren, often recounting tales of her own childhood and the lessons learned along the way. Her home was a sanctuary filled with beautiful flowers, warm tortillas, jubilant laughter, and an open door for all.

She is survived by her five daughters, seventeen grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and fifteen great great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews, and her two sisters Belen Carrasco Molina and Josepha Carrasco Ornelas all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

A celebration of her remarkable life will be held on September 20, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, officiated by Father Serjio Legarreta of Van Horn where family and friends are invited to gather and remember the incredible woman she was.

Pallbearers serving are Rey Enriquez, Ginno Vale, Julian Hernandez, Fernie Hernandez, Brian Nunez, Eric Lopez and John David Iglesias

Rest in peace, dear Vicky Fuentes. Your love will forever remain a guiding light in our lives.
