Israel Q. Rangel (known as Racas by many) was called by the Lord on January 18, 2022 in Van Horn Texas. He was surrounded by all his children at the time. He was born to Angel Rangel and Esther Quintana on February 20, 1945, in Mexico.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Juana Rangel. One granddaughter Adriana and one grandson Jose David.
He leaves behind a legacy with his sons, Juan and wife Alicia, Sergio and Senaida, Israel Jr. and Aidi, Arnaldo and Monica, daughter Lety and husband Jesus Navarrete. Their respective families consist of 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Numerous relatives and friends will mourn his loss. He had profound knowledge of animals being born and raised on the ranch all his life. He loved roping competitions and took immense pleasure in singing. He loved life and took pride in all his children and grandchildrens accomplishments.
Viewing and visitation will be at the Heritage Funeral Home in Van Horn Texas on Friday January 21, 2022 from 1 pm to 9 pm. Holy Rosary will be held at 12:30 on Saturday January 22 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Mission in Valentine Texas, followed by a funeral mass at 1:30. officiated by Father Victorino. The burial will follow at the Valentine Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are: Demetrio Navarette, Enrique Navarette, Alex Rangel, Omar Rangel, Angel Rangel, Antonio Rangel, Sergio Rangel, Danial Rangel, Sebastian Rangel and Julian Rangel.
