Jennifer Rebecca Carrillo, 51, entered eternal rest on September 17, 2024, in Van Horn, Texas. Born on January 3, 1973, Jennifer led a life marked by her vibrant spirit and deep commitment to her family and community.
Jennifer spent her childhood in Van Horn, attending Eagle Elementary and Van Horn High School, before furthering her education at Ranger College. Her professional life was dedicated to her second family at Culberson Hospital, where she served as a Medical Records Director for 25 years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and excellence in her role.
A devout member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Jennifer’s faith was an integral part of her life. She was known for her vivacious personality, someone who was always ready with a joke and a smile. She carried her selfless and loving nature with her everywhere she went. Jennifer was a pillar of strength and generosity, forever eager to lend a helping hand. Beyond her profession and spiritual commitments, Jennifer was profoundly active in her community and cherished spending quality time with her family and friends. Her role as a mother and grandmother was paramount, filling her life with joy and purpose.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Oscar Carrillo, her mother, Analinda Flores and Father, Alvaro P. Flores, Jr.; Sister Andrea Ramirez and husband Rene; Brother, Alvaro ‘Lotsie’ Flores III and wife Naomi; Daughter, Jenna Flores and Stepdaughters Amanda Lopez and Valerie Carrillo; Grand Daughters, Avah Skye Washington, Delaney Lopez, Jadyn and Alicia Barron, Layla and Chanel Resendes; Nephews, Ricky Duke and Mateo; Great Nephew, Zavery Tre; Nieces, Marina and Felicity; Great Niece, Love; and her beloved 9 pups; Echo, Chanel, Stella, Brownie, Charlie, G-Unit, Chewy, Taco and Whiskey.
A Rosary will be held in her honor on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 7 P.M. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Father Serjio Legarreta officiated the funeral mass on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 10 A.M., reflecting her deep faith and the love she shared with those around her. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving were Antuan Washinton, Ricky Duke Ramirez, Pavel Cisneros, Rocky Navarette, Tony Perez, Joseph Corrales, Chester Morris, Joe Ramos. Honorary Pallbearers were Alvaro ‘Lotsie’ Flores, Mateo Flores, Rene Ramirez, Zavery Tre Molina, Gilda Morales, Albert Urias, Arvin West, and Raul Rodriguez
Jennifer’s life was a testament to her loving, selfless nature and she bestowed an unwavering impact on everyone she touched. Her legacy will continue to inspire and resonate within her family and community. She was a beacon of love and support to her family and will be profoundly missed. Her Grace and Spirit will be with us forever and we look ahead with faithful hearts knowing we will reunite again one day.
