Juana Muela Baeza, age 83 passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022 in Odessa, Texas surrounded by her family. Juana was born on March 6, 1939, in Pilares, Chih., Mexico to her parents Fabian and Simona Muela. Juana was a resident of Van Horn from 1975 to 2010 then moved to Odessa and settled there to be with her children and family.
Juana was very active in church; she loved the outdoors and always sang while gardening. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her greatest joy were her children. Juana was a beautiful, happy Lady, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great- great grandmother. She will be truly missed.
Those left to honor and cherish the memory of Juana are her daughters, Otilia Baeza of Midland, Olivia Urias of Van Horn, Orilia Martinez (Onesimo) of Van Horn, Olga Nikolic of Midland, Elia Tarango (Joe Angel) of Van Horn, Sally Tarango (Israel) of Van Horn, Melva Baeza of Odessa and her Sammy Baeza of Odessa, her sisters Jacinta Espinoza of CA, Cesaria Tarango of Pecos and her brother Fabian Muela of Presidio. Juana was blessed with sixteen grandchildren and nine great- great grandchildren.
Juana is preceded in death by her husband Inocente Baeza, her daughter Melva Baeza, her parents Fabian and Simona Muela, her three sisters Dolores Alvarado, Maria Ortega, Manuela Tarango and her three brothers, Hilario Muela, Simon Muela and Nicolas Muela.
A funeral service was held at The Seventh Day Adventist Church of Van Horn officiated by Pastor Jose Padilla on July 13, 2022. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving were: Sammy Baeza, Sebastian Tarango, Israel Tarango, Andy Ortega, Ryan Martinez, Auden Urias, Joe Angel Tarango and Samuel Ray Baeza.
Services have been entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn, Texas.
