Olivia Rayos

Olivia Rayos age 80, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2023. She was born May 17, 1942, in Luis Leon, Chihuahua Mexico to her parents Eliseo and Isabel Sanchez.

Olivia was her mother’s primary caretaker after her father passed away in March of 1993. They relocated from El Paso to Van Horn, Tx in 2000 to live a more peaceful life while her mother battled Alzheimer’s till her passing in April of 2004.

She worked at the Van Horn Nutrition Center for 8 years and worked as a senior provider for Caprock Home Health for 22 years. She enjoyed helping all her patients in any way she could.

Olivia was very involved in her church community at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Van Horn. She played the guitar and sang in the 8am early service choir. She was a very devout catholic and Guadalupana.

She was one of the most selfless people you could come across. She was always willing to lend a hand.  Olivia loved everyone and never saw bad in anyone.

Olivia is survived by her sisters Isela Pantoja, Isabel Padilla, her four brothers Ernesto Sanchez, Humberto Sanchez, Eliseo Sanchez and Hector Sanchez.  As well as lots of nieces and nephews across the country. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Olivia is preceded in death by her father and mother Eliseo and Isabel Sanchez, her husband Felipe Rayos, her sisters Armida Beltran and Noemi Flores, her brothers Raymundo Sanchez, Ruben Sanchez, and Elisandro Sanchez.

A funeral Mass was held at the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Van horn, Texas.  Officiated by Father Frank Hernandez of Van Horn. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving were Efren Pantoja Jr., Tim Renn, Gilberto Flores, Phill Padilla, Butch Harris and Hugo Sanchez.
