Rosa Isela DeAnda Valdez, of Van Horn, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on August 3, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, Isela was the proud daughter of Cristobal B. DeAnda and Sofia Gonzales DeAnda.
Isela was also a devoted parent, supportive daughter, loving aunt and sister. She enjoyed listening to her favorite music “the oldies”, dancing, visiting with friends and spending time with family. She was known for her long black hair and brash sense of humor. Her legacy is of kindness, love of family, cultural pride, and generosity. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives were touched by her.
Isela is survived by her beloved son Navor Valdez, her mother Sofia Gonzales DeAnda, sister Angelica DeAnda Zimmerly, niece Liza Zimmerly, nephews Christopher Zimmerly and Eric Zimmerly, including great nieces and nephew Sydney Arce, Olivia Arellano, Christianna Zimmerly, Christopher Zimmerly II and Valentina Zimmerly. She was preceded in death by Cristobal Bruno DeAnda.
A rosary service to celebrate Isela's life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 7:00 PM and the mass will be on Saturday, September 14 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady Fatima Church in Van Horn, TX.
